I am writing in support of the proposed Riparian Buffer Protection Standards. I also encourage the BOS to add larger setbacks for intensive confined animal operations (such as CAFOs and AFOs) that meet certain size thresholds, and manure and waste discharge criteria.
If Albemarle County were to authorize Ranked Choice Voting (RCV) for County Board of Supervisors Elections, the following three benefits would come with such a reform:
-RCV would guarantee that election winners have a majority mandate behind their wins
-RCV would reveal important information about the political preferences of the electorate in multi-candidate races
-RCV would lower the barrier to entry or re-entry for new candidates or former office holders
