I have one specific comment about the applicant's proposal to build a shared use path along Three Notch'd Road: the applicant should be required to build the shared use path up to Park Ridge Road. The current development plan shows the shared use path ending a 20-30 feet east of Park Ridge Road. So anyone using the path to ride a bike, walk or push a stroller, will not actually be able to connect the pavement on Park Ridge Road. That will create a tremendous "last mile" problem when the shared use path along Three Notch'd Road eventually extends down to Wickham Pond and the Highlands. Getting to Park Ridge Road is critical because that street (and its sidewalks) can safely connect pedestrians to the rest of Downtown and the trail network. So the developer's and the County's work to build a shared use path will be useless, since pedestrians won't be able to access Park Ridge Road. To fix this, the developer must built the shared use path all the way to Park Ridge Road.
