    Honorable Board Members,
Recently, school bus service to our home was not available for our middle schooler. The school is less than six miles away. We thought it would be easy for our child to simply ride a bike to and from school every day. However, after biking the route, it quickly became apparent that there are significant concerns for bike and pedestrian safety. We felt it was necessary to accompany our child due to traffic safety concerns. I would like to request prioritization of the following:
    1. The Albemarle Board of Supervisors request the VDOT Safe Routes to Schools partner with each Albemarle School's administration staff and parents to conduct site visits in the next ninety days.
    2. The Albemarle Board of Supervisors (ABOS) request the VDOT Safe Routes to Schools and school partners to provide a report to the ABOS in the next 120 days. Prioritize interventions with walker/biker safety in mind.

Disappointed to see an apparent mismatch between the Crozet Master Plan and the prioritization of transportation projects in Crozet. Eastern Avenue is a glaring omission. Eastern Ave - both the future northern connection to 240 and the southern connection over Lickinghole Creek to 250 - is crucial to providing effective multimodal routes in Crozet. With Activity Centers at the proposed north and south exits for Eastern Avenue, I'm shocked to see the project so completely abandoned by the county. There's low-hanging fruit in Crozet as well that has gone unmentioned - internal sidewalks around Crozet Park, for instance, are a relatively-low-cost (compared to Eastern Ave) project with a high impact. Other projects - #56 Tabor/High St Sidewalks and #45 Route 240 pedestrian improvements - are not aligned with the priorities identified in the Master Plan, and again are relatively low-cost and high-impact. I would appreciate seeing more alignment with the Master Plan in these priorities.
