21. 22-174 Public Hearing on Ordinances to Revise Local Magisterial District and Precinct Boundaries. To receive public comment and input regarding a proposed ordinance to amend Chapter 2 (Administration), Article 1 (Elections) of the Albemarle County Code by amending Sec. 2-100 and repealing Secs. 2-101 through 2-106, and adding new Secs. 2-101 and 2-102. This ordinance would amend the boundaries of the County's magisterial (election) districts and voter precincts by reapportioning the County's population among the magisterial districts as required by State and federal law following the 2020 decennial census. The proposed ordinance also would identify each voter precinct's polling place. The Board will also consider three alternative magisterial district configurations, and the selected alternative will determine the final version of the proposed ordinance to be considered for adoption by the Board at a later date, currently scheduled for March 23, 2022. Members of the Albemarle County Board of Supervisors and the Albemarle County School Board, with the exception of the at-large member on the School Board, are elected from their respective magisterial districts.
