7. From the Public: Matters Not Listed for Public Hearing on the Agenda or on Matters Previously Considered by the Board or Matters that are Pending Before the Board.
If this is a well thought, statistic based ordinance, why is it so broad as to be punitive? What are the statistics on gun crime in our county, esp in rural areas? Does this intend to see lawful gun owners cited or arrested for parking in a county parking lot? Does it intend to punish hunters who somehow cross county parkland to get to a legal hunting area? What about the annual issue if rabies in rural county areas? Do you realize this will preclude hikers from protecting themselves? What about rural vets? You have several parks with horse trails or that adjoin farmland. We aren't Fairfax County, and the rural residents of Albemarle County deserve to be considered when the board meets in Charlottesville City to pass laws that impact hundreds of square miles of remote landscape and the residents who live there.
