I wish to work with the Board of Supervisors and Albemarle County and find a way to keep At Ready where he has stood for over 100 years. To tell the story of the men the monument represents, and build a bridge for the future.

Show me a monument that glorifies the Confederacy on Court Square. At Ready honors the men who fought and died. The war was anything but Civil, it was an invasion, and there is no romanticizing the murder of innocent women and children. The starvation of thousands because men stole and killed crops, war knew no color. Slavery is wrong and the energy going into removing monuments should be placed into ending slavery today.
