Remove the Johnny Reb Statue and the Confederate Cannons.

I have lived in Charlottesville since 1988. I have practiced law in the area since 1996. It is impossible for my clients to believe that our courts offer equal justice under the law when a confederate statue guards the front entrance of the Albemarle Circuit Court. These symbols of racism and bigotry are an affront and embarrassment.

Please remove the Johnny Reb statue and the confederate cannons from in front of the Circuit Court and relocate them to a confederate cemetery or museum.

Thank you. Tracey C. Hopper

Preserve the monuments, yes... but in a museum, a basement of a county office building, or a hayfield... anywhere other than in front of the courthouse.

Move the courts out of downtown and move Lee over there also. Turn the courthouse into a museum

Oh yeah. No need for a new parking garage then.
